Barolo Bussia 2021 Giuseppe Rinaldi
The Barolo Bussia 2021 by Giuseppe Rinaldi marks the third vintage of a project that has quickly earned its place among the finest expressions of Barolo. First vinified in 2019, this wine originates from a distinguished parcel in Bussia Sottana—historically managed by Giulio Viglione and now part of the Rinaldi estate since 2022—nestled at 230 meters in Monforte d’Alba, on the classic Sant’Agata marl soils.
Under the care of sisters Carlotta and Marta Rinaldi, the Bussia vineyard is cultivated with deep respect for tradition and nature, following the artisanal and uncompromising philosophy that defines the family legacy. The 2021 vintage reveals itself as a wine of remarkable precision and complexity, now joining the iconic Brunate and Tre Tine in the Rinaldi portfolio with a voice of its own.
On the nose, it offers bloody and floral nuances, balsamic undertones, and fresh citrus hints, supported by vanilla and a vibrant core of pomegranate that gives the wine its signature aromatic depth. The palate is textured and lively—juicy, warm, and savory—with returning notes of strawberry, citrus, spice, and a refined touch of oak. Tannins are firm yet polished, and the finish is long, sapid, and energetic.
Barolo Bussia by Rinaldi already stands as a modern classic: expressive, profound, and unmistakably crafted with the fine pen stroke that characterizes all great wines. It’s a faithful reflection of a family rooted in tradition and courageously moving forward.
