The Barbaresco Faset 2016 by Roagna is a hidden gem in the estate’s lineup — a wine of elegance, subtlety and detail. The Faset cru, located near Asili, offers limestone- and marl-rich soils, ideal for crafting refined, aromatic Nebbiolo with a distinctive mineral backbone.
Roagna selects 30+ year-old vines, organically farmed and harvested by hand. The traditional method includes native yeast fermentation, extended skin maceration for up to 80 days, and 5 years of aging in large oak barrels. No filtration or fining is performed before bottling.
The 2016 vintage enhances Faset’s pure, graceful character. The wine shows a brilliant garnet color, and aromas of dried rose, red berries, citrus, crushed stone, and fine spice. On the palate, it is linear and fresh, with precise tannins, bright acidity, and a long, mineral finish.
