Barbaresco Riserva Camp Gros Martinenga 2016 Marchesi di Grésy
The Barbaresco Riserva Camp Gros Martinenga 2016 is the flagship wine of Marchesi di Grésy, produced only in outstanding vintages from a prized parcel within the Martinenga cru — one of the most iconic vineyards in Barbaresco, bordering the legendary Rabajà and Asili.
The Camp Gros section faces south and southwest at ideal elevation, with soils rich in fine calcareous marl, yielding Nebbiolo of great elegance and aging potential. After careful manual harvesting and strict grape selection, fermentation occurs in stainless steel with extended skin contact.
Aging is meticulous: 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by 18 months in large Slavonian oak casks, and extensive bottle aging before release.
The 2016 vintage offers outstanding structure and grace, with aromas of dried rose, cherry, licorice, tobacco, truffle, and graphite. On the palate, it is deep and refined, with silky tannins, a vibrant core and a long, complex finish.
This is a Barbaresco Riserva of rare pedigree, made to age and impress for decades.
