Barbaresco 2008 Cantina del Parroco di Neive
Barbaresco 2008 from Cantina del Parroco di Neive is a red wine produced in the Piedmont region of Italy from Nebbiolo grapes from the hills of Neive and other Barbaresco villages. The vineyards from which the grapes come are located at an altitude of about 250-350 meters above sea level, in clay and limestone soils characteristic of the area.
The grapes used to produce the 2008 Barbaresco are hand-picked in small boxes and carefully selected to ensure only the best bunches. The production philosophy of Cantina del Parroco di Neive is based on the use of sustainable cultivation techniques, respecting the environment and the biodiversity of the area. In addition, the vines are cultivated using traditional methods, such as Guyot pruning, in order to ensure superior grape quality.
After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery and undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about 15-20 days. Afterwards, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, where it matures for about 24 months, gaining depth and complexity.
The 2008 Barbaresco from Cantina del Parroco di Neive has an intense ruby red color with garnet highlights. On the nose, notes of berries, spices, tobacco and licorice are perceived. In the mouth, the wine is elegant and persistent, with soft tannins and a good structure that makes it suitable for aging.
