VdF Blanc “Au fil des générations” Magnum 2021 Tony Bornard
The VdF Blanc “Au fil des générations” Magnum 2021 is one of the purest expressions of Tony Bornard’s winemaking philosophy. Produced from 100% Chardonnay harvested across all the estate’s vineyards, this cuvée is designed to capture the full diversity of the domaine while remaining deeply rooted in the limestone-rich terroirs of the Jura.
Crafted with the estate’s minimalist, low-intervention approach, the wine allows fruit, geology and time to shape its personality. The magnum format further enhances its evolution, promoting slower ageing and greater aromatic complexity over the years.
Far removed from the richer, oak-driven expressions often associated with Chardonnay, this wine reveals a focused and razor-sharp aromatic profile. The nose opens with citrus zest, lemon peel, grapefruit, white flowers and crushed stone, supported by an intense mineral character that immediately recalls its Jura origins.
On the palate, it is vibrant, precise and exceptionally layered. A dense mineral core provides both texture and depth, while bright acidity and pronounced salinity create a wine that is simultaneously energetic and remarkably refined. Every sip feels focused and persistent, maintaining freshness without sacrificing concentration.
Only on the long finish does the wine gradually reveal softer, more rounded nuances, bringing harmony without diminishing its striking tension. As it opens in the glass, new aromatic dimensions emerge, rewarding patience and slow contemplation.
“Au fil des générations” Blanc is a Chardonnay of remarkable identity, combining minerality, precision and depth in a style that is unmistakably Jura. A compelling white wine that already offers tremendous pleasure today while promising outstanding evolution in bottle.
