Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne 2022 from Domaine Larue is an oenological gem nestled near the village of Blagny. Four east-facing parcels, situated at an altitude of 330 meters on a hillside with limestone block subsoil.
The surface soil, mingled with white stones and fossilized shells, hosts ancient Chardonnay vines meticulously tended since 1946-1975. After hand-harvesting and gentle pressing, fermentation occurs in oak barrels, with 20% renewed annually.
Following 12 months of aging on fine lees, the wine is further refined in stainless steel tanks for approximately 6 months before bottling. Crystal-clear with green reflections, it offers discreet notes of wood and vanilla on the nose, leading to a palate of initial lightness evolving into a delightful volume with a long, precise finish.
This cuvée yields approximately 4000 bottles, best enjoyed young or after 5-15 years, ideally served at 11-13°C, and pairs wonderfully with the exquisite taste of lobster.
