Frank Cornelissen is the reference point of Sicilian Etna wine, his natural wines tell the full story of the terroir from which they are born. His production philosophy is based on the non-intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar, for his natural Sicilian wines no additives or sulphur dioxide are used, the fermentation is spontaneous and the vinification takes place in terracotta jars buried in the lava stone.

"Before being good a wine must be true" this is his philosophy, so important that it is engraved at the entrance of his cellar, in the North side of Etna.

Frank Cornelissen, Sicilian natural wines from Etna

Frank Cornelissen is the absolute protagonist of Sicilian wine, since 2001, the year of his first harvest, his natural wines have become cult bottles sought after by wine lovers around the world.

At the entrance of his winery, which is located in Solicchiata, on the north side of Mount Etna, is engraved his production philosophy: "Before a wine is good it must be true". His approach to viticulture is to avoid any kind of intervention or treatment on plants, his ideas are based on the fact that the universe is unknown to man and the latter is not able to interpret nature and its delicate balances.

Frank Cornelissen has therefore decided to avoid "any chemical, traditional, biological or biodynamic treatment".

Frank Cornelissen is considered one of the greatest experts on the territory of Etna and the Sicilian wines that come from there. His vineyards, located in microplots in the best districts of the North Face of Etna, are located between 650 and 1000 meters above sea level and are mostly planted with saplings.

Frank Cornelissen's natural wines, recognized throughout the world for their unique expressiveness, are made from famous grapes such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, but also from native grape varieties dusted by him such as Minnella Bianca or Nera, Francisi and Grecanico. The bunches are harvested by hand and the vinification, according to ancient traditions, takes place in terracotta jars buried in the lava stone, without any kind of additive or sulphurous addition.

They are natural Sicilian wines that represent in full and at best a unique terroir like that of Etna, and the wine world fully appreciates them.
