Domaine René Cacheux & Fils represents one of the most authentic and refined expressions of Burgundy, rooted in the historic village of Vosne-Romanée, a name synonymous worldwide with exceptional Pinot Noir. The estate’s history begins in the early 20th century with François Blée, establishing a family tradition that has been maintained over four generations, always closely tied to the local terroir.

The estate expanded significantly under Charles Blée, who enlarged the vineyard while serving as estate manager at the renowned Romanée-Saint-Vivant. In 1966, Jacqueline Blée and her husband René Cacheux officially founded the René Cacheux-Blée estate, and later, their son Gérald, after 18 years of experience across Burgundy, took over in 2004, steering the domaine toward modern precision and refined viticultural vision.

Today, the estate manages highly valued vineyard plots, including Vosne-Romanée Village, the Premier Crus Les Suchots and Les Beaux Monts, Chambolle-Musigny, and other regional appellations. Pinot Noir remains the central focus, capable of expressing the subtle differences of each terroir with elegance and clarity.

A hallmark of Domaine René Cacheux & Fils is its commitment to sustainable viticulture, certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE). Vineyard practices emphasize soil preservation and biodiversity, including controlled grass cover, biological pest management, and natural cluster ventilation to minimize chemical inputs.

In the cellar, the approach is traditional yet meticulous: manual harvesting with in-field selection, total destemming, temperature-controlled fermentations, and oak aging for around 18 months. The proportion of new oak varies depending on vintage and appellation, ensuring balance without overpowering the fruit.

The wines are characterized by elegant, precise structure, with refined aromas ranging from red fruit to subtle floral and spice notes. On the palate, they offer harmony, fine tannins, and a graceful progression, with notable aging potential appreciated by Burgundy enthusiasts.

Domaine René Cacheux & Fils produces wines that faithfully reflect their appellations, with no excessive extraction or intrusive techniques. The style prioritizes consistency, territorial identity, and artisanal quality, making the domaine a reliable and distinguished name for those seeking authentic, elegant Burgundy.
