Primitivo 2015 L'Archetipo
Primitivo 2015 is a natural wine from Apulia produced by L'Archetipo. It is made from 100% Primitivo grapes, a native vine of the region that is cultivated according to the principles of synergistic agriculture, a philosophy based on the concept that 'nature should not be touched, because it is able to regulate itself'. So no intervention in the vineyard or in the cellar, no ploughing or chemicals, spontaneous fermentation.
This Primitivo 2015 ferments naturally with indigenous yeasts for about 20 - 30 days, then matures for 18 days in steel on fine lees where malolactic fermentation takes place and then in large wooden barrels for 18 months, followed by a rest in the bottle for at least 6 months.
The 2015 Primitivo L'Archetipo shows an intense ruby red colour to the eye, with a nose that expresses a bouquet of herbaceous and spicy aromas. The taste is quite soft and tannic, balanced by a nice dose of freshness and sapidity and a persistent finish.
