Description

Vino Rosso 2018 Le Piane

This Vino Rosso Piemontese is made from red grapes from Alto Piemonte and is a label that has become a classic of Le Piane, a reference point winery in Boca, in the province of Novara. It is aged for a year in new and used tonneaux, followed by large barrels of Slavonian oak.

It expresses a ruby red colour with garnet hues, while the nose offers aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, notes of spices and herbs with a mineral finish. The taste is soft and full-bodied, enveloping the palate and showing firm tannins, soft but balanced by a nice freshness and a savoury finish.

A very pleasant wine to sip, which proves to be quite dynamic in pairings.

The Boca area (450-500m above sea level) was brought into vogue in the mid-1990s thanks to Christoph Künzli and Le Piane. After 30 years of work aimed at enhancing the value of a Nebbiolo that had always been considered minor, Le Piane is the greatest representative of Boca, a real reference point for the area.
