Longitudine 8.26 2019 Villa Guelpa
The Longitudine 8.26 2019 – Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo DOC by Villa Guelpa is a wine that authentically expresses the terroir of the Novaresi Hills in Alto Piemonte. The Nebbiolo grapes grow in south-east facing vineyards at 300 meters above sea level, on terraced stony alluvial soils with light sandy layers and deltaic stratification. The 25-year-old vines, planted at a density of 4500 per hectare and trained in the Gouyot system, ensure low yields and concentrated ripening.
The 2019 vintage, characterized by extreme heat and occasional rainfall, produced grapes of exceptional quality, harvested by hand on October 4th.
In the cellar, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with soft crushing and a 13-day maceration in Monolithic Triplok concrete vats, preserving fruit integrity and freshness. The wine then ages for 12 months in the same vats before bottling, developing balance, structure, and longevity.
The Longitudine 8.26 2019 shows an intense ruby color, with aromas of ripe cherry, subtle spice, and floral notes. On the palate, it is sapid, well-balanced, and persistent, with a fresh finish that enhances drinkability. Ideal with aged cheeses, Piedmontese pasta dishes, and red meats, it is an elegant Nebbiolo that reflects Villa Guelpa’s stylistic approach and the authenticity of its terroir.
