Gevrey-Chambertin "Ostrea" 2016 Domaine J. & J.Louis Trapet
The Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea by Trapet is a wine produced in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France. The area is famous for producing elegant and complex wines made from Pinot Noir grapes, which are grown on limestone, clay, and marl soils.
The grapes used to produce the Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea by Trapet come from vineyards located at an altitude of approximately 300 meters above sea level, which benefit from a temperate climate and good exposure to the sun. The vines are grown according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, with manual soil cultivation and limited yields to obtain high-quality grapes.
The vinification of the Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea by Trapet involves spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and prolonged maceration of the skins to extract the maximum aromas and tannins. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 18 months before being bottled.
The Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea by Trapet is characterized by an intense ruby red color and a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, and a slight hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, with an elegant tannic structure and a long aromatic persistence. It is a wine of great personality and finesse, ideal for pairing with red meat dishes and aged cheeses.
