Champagne Brut Millesime 2008 Patrick Soutiran
Ambonnay, with its 400 hectares under vine, is one of the most celebrated Grand Crus in Champagne. In this land of red wines where Pinot Noir plays a leading role, the third family generation of Domaine Patrick Soutiran carries out precise work with the aim of creating Champagnes of the highest level and faithful to the terroir.
The Brut Millesimé 2008 is an example of this: it is made from a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay and authentically reflects the terroir of Ambonnay through a rich and juicy style. The grapes are harvested and carefully selected by hand. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, while refermentation is carried out in the bottle according to the principles of the Champenoise method, with ageing on its lees until disgorgement.
Soutiran's Champagne Brut Grand Cru Millesimé 2008 fills the glass with a wonderful straw yellow colour with warm golden veins and a fine, persistent perlage. The gourmand nose offers sweet hints of honey, ripe fruit such as cooked pear and quince, small red fruits and notes of butter and brioche. The sip is rich but balanced by a beautiful freshness, harmonious with hints of ripe fruit that return on the palate.
