Chablis Terroir de Courgis Magnum 2017 Patrick Piuze
The Chablis Terroir de Courgis Magnum 2019 is a fine white wine produced by Patrick Piuze. The chardonnay grapes come from a single south-facing vineyard in the commune of Vaulicheres, to the east of Chablis, on a clay soil above a Kimmeridgian limestone basement. Of all Patrick Piuze's 'Terroirs', this Chablis de Courgis is the fullest, characterised by ripe, rounded fruit and a deep sip.
Two-thirds of the fruit is re-fermented in barrel and aged, while the remaining fruit is vinified in vats. Patrick Piuze's Chablis Terroir de Courgis Magnum 2019 has an intense straw yellow colour.
On the nose, the bouquet is clean with fresh aromas of green apple, pear, wet stone minerality, citrus peel, light smoky notes and dried flowers. The palate is also pure and precise, with a distinct freshness and clear minerality offset by a nice concentration and grip on the long, perfectly balanced finish.
