Carema Etichetta Bianca 2016 Ferrando
Carema Etichetta Bianca by Ferrando is a remarkable expression of mountain-grown Nebbiolo, crafted in the remote Alpine village of Carema, in northern Piedmont. Here, vines cling to steep terraces supported by dry-stone walls and granite pillars called “topie”, creating one of Italy’s most heroic viticultural landscapes.
Made only in the finest vintages, this wine is produced from 100% Nebbiolo (Picotendro) and aged for at least 3 years, including 30 months in Slavonian oak casks. Ferrando’s winemaking style is deeply respectful of tradition, emphasizing finesse, terroir, and minimal intervention.
In the glass, it displays a light garnet color. The bouquet is complex and subtle, with aromas of dried red berries, wilted rose petals, alpine herbs, white pepper, orange peel, and a distinctive mineral note. On the palate, it is refined and linear, with silky tannins, bright acidity, and a lingering, savory finish.
Carema Etichetta Bianca is a wine of grace and purity, with great aging potential. It is a benchmark for mountain Nebbiolo and a testament to Ferrando’s dedication to this unique terroir.
