Canavese Bianco “Àura” 2021 – Fratelli Marco
The Canavese Bianco “Àura” 2021 by Fratelli Marco is the result of deep knowledge of the Canavese terroir and a meticulous approach to winemaking. Erbaluce, the emblematic grape of the area, thrives on the sandy and gravelly morainic soils of Loranzè, which endow the wine with freshness, minerality, and aromatic finesse.
The vines are trained to Guyot with low yields to enhance aromatic concentration. After a careful harvest, the grapes undergo a 24-hour cold maceration before fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature. The wine then matures for six months on fine lees, with weekly bâtonnage to enhance texture and complexity, followed by another six months in bottle to achieve perfect balance.
In the glass, it shines with bright straw-yellow hues. The bouquet opens with floral and citrus notes, green apple and almond, intertwined with subtle mineral hints. On the palate, it’s vibrant and linear, yet smooth and harmonious, with a persistent, saline finish that mirrors its morainic origin. Àura is a luminous, authentic expression of Canavese — ideal with seafood, shellfish, and delicate cheeses.
