Bianco di Morgante 2022 Morgante
The Bianco di Morgante 2022 is one of the most distinctive and innovative expressions of Sicilian winemaking. Produced by the historic Morgante Winery in the Agrigento area, this wine is crafted from red grapes vinified as a white wine, showcasing an unconventional yet elegant interpretation deeply connected to its terroir. The project also bears the signature of renowned Italian winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, who collaborates closely with the estate in developing its most representative labels.
The grapes are grown at around 400 meters above sea level on soils rich in limestone and clay. This mineral-rich terroir gives the wine its characteristic saline backbone and vibrant personality. After careful destemming and grape selection, the berries are gently pressed to avoid extracting color from the red skins. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled low temperatures, preserving freshness, aromatic precision and varietal purity.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright and delicate straw yellow color. The bouquet is elegant and expressive, featuring citrus fruits, white flowers, fresh fruit and chalky mineral nuances that clearly reflect the calcareous soils of origin. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant and beautifully balanced, supported by a savory mineral tension that leads to a persistent finish with refined hints of fresh almond.
