Barolo Ginestra Sorì Ginestra 2019 Magnum Magnum Conterno Fantino
The Barolo Ginestra “Sori Ginestra” by Conterno Fantino is one of the most iconic single-vineyard Barolos from Monforte d’Alba. The “Sori” designation highlights the best-exposed south-facing parcels of the Ginestra cru, located at 350–400 meters above sea level, with marl-rich calcareous-clay soils—ideal for structured, age-worthy Nebbiolo.
Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in large oak vats with extended maceration. The wine then ages for 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by a year of bottle aging. The winemaking philosophy marries tradition with precision.
In the glass, it shows a deep garnet hue. The nose is layered and intense, offering aromas of black cherry, dried rose, leather, licorice, dark spices, graphite, and forest floor. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with firm, refined tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral-laced finish.
“Sori Ginestra” is a meditative and cellar-worthy Barolo, capable of evolving gracefully over two to three decades. It’s a benchmark for Monforte’s expressive and structured style.
