Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Colonnello 2018
The Barolo Colonello 2018 by Aldo Conterno comes from the heart of the Bussia cru, located in Monforte d’Alba, and is known as the most refined and graceful of the estate’s three single-vineyard Barolos (alongside Cicala and Romirasco).
The Colonello vineyard, situated around 400 meters above sea level, faces southeast and sits on calcareous marl with sandy elements—ideal for producing wines with finesse and aromatic lift.
After traditional vinification with extended maceration, the wine is aged for 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, allowing the Nebbiolo to express its full aromatic complexity and silk-like tannins.
The 2018 vintage reveals floral and fruity elegance, with aromas of rose petals, red currants, wild herbs, and spice. On the palate, it’s precise and refined, with smooth tannins and vibrant acidity, making it both pleasurable young and ideal for aging.
Colonello is a Barolo of harmony and sophistication, perfect for collectors and lovers of subtlety.
