Barolo Cicala 2018 Aldo Conterno

The Barolo Cicala 2018 by Aldo Conterno is a single-vineyard wine from one of the most esteemed plots within the Bussia cru, in Monforte d’Alba. The Cicala vineyard, facing southwest, sits on calcareous-clay marl soils and produces Barolo of impressive depth, structure, and longevity.

Harvested by hand and vinified traditionally with extended skin contact, the wine matures for about 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, preserving purity and allowing the Nebbiolo to express its full complexity.

Cicala is known for its bold personality: structured, intense, and tannic, with aromas of red berries, dried roses, tobacco, graphite, and sweet spices. The 2018 vintage lends a touch of elegance to its usual power, making it accessible in youth but built to age gracefully for decades.
