Barbera d’Alba Vigna Scarrone 2020 Vietti

Barbera d’Alba Vigna Scarrone by Vietti is a top-tier single-vineyard red from Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Piedmont’s Langhe. The Scarrone vineyard is planted on steep slopes with limestone and clay-rich soils, ideal for producing powerful yet elegant Barbera wines.

Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a long maceration of about 2 weeks, followed by aging for 12 to 16 months in large oak casks and barriques. The result is a wine that masterfully balances fruit richness, acidity and smoothness.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red hue with violet hints. The nose reveals ripe cherry, blackberry, hints of spice, vanilla, licorice and subtle balsamic tones. On the palate, it is round, juicy and structured, with bright acidity and a long, silky finish.

Scarrone is a refined and age-worthy Barbera d’Alba, ideal with roasted meats, wild game and mature cheeses.
