Barbaresco Meruzzano 2014 – Cantina del Nebbiolo
Barbaresco Meruzzano 2014 by Cantina del Nebbiolo is a genuine expression of the Meruzzano MGA, one of the most distinctive subzones in the Barbaresco area. Located between the villages of Treiso and Alba, this hill rises to 320 metres above sea level and is marked by its south-facing exposure and clay-limestone soils, conditions that allow Nebbiolo to develop aromatic precision, firm structure and remarkable depth. High planting density and careful vineyard management further enhance concentration and finesse, making Meruzzano one of the most admired sites by Barbaresco enthusiasts.
Vinification follows a traditional approach, with a long maceration on the skins to ensure full extraction of tannins and aromas. Ageing takes place in wood according to Barbaresco regulations, followed by bottle refinement that brings harmony and complexity to the final wine.
In the glass, Barbaresco Meruzzano 2014 displays a bright red colour with orange highlights, typical of Nebbiolo’s natural evolution. The nose reveals red fruits, aromatic herbs and subtle spicy notes. On the palate it is structured and energetic: the tannins, powerful in the wine’s youth, gradually evolve into elegant balsamic and fruity sensations, supported by fresh acidity and long persistence. The result is a Barbaresco with strong territorial identity and refined character.
Perfect with Piedmontese classics such as agnolotti, roast meats, braised dishes, and excellent also with medium and long-aged cheeses. A wine for those who appreciate traditional, expressive and long-lived Barbaresco.
