Barbaresco Martinenga 2016 Marchesi di Grésy
The Barbaresco Martinenga 2016 by Marchesi di Grésy is a benchmark expression of Nebbiolo from one of Barbaresco’s most iconic crus. Entirely sourced from the Martinenga vineyard, this monopole is situated between the legendary Rabajà and Asili, and is known for its natural amphitheater shape, southern exposure, and marl-rich soils.
The 2016 vintage was exceptional in Piedmont, and this wine reflects that with a bouquet of rose petals, wild berries, sweet spice, licorice, and tobacco. On the palate, it is refined, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and long, mineral-driven persistence.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 18 months of aging in a mix of French barriques and Slavonian oak, and further bottle aging before release.
Martinenga is the estate’s signature Barbaresco, offering a balance of finesse and structure, and built for graceful aging.
