Barbaresco 2007 – De Forville
The 2007 Barbaresco from De Forville is a refined expression of Nebbiolo in the heart of the Langhe hills. Grapes come from the historic Loreto, Ovello, and Cavanna vineyards in the Barbaresco commune, areas renowned for producing structured and age-worthy wines. Following fermentation and initial racking, the wine is aged for two years in wooden barrels, developing aromatic complexity and a rounded palate. Subsequent bottle aging allows the Barbaresco to evolve further, fully expressing its elegant and harmonious character. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color with garnet highlights that deepen with time. The bouquet is refined and distinctive, with violet and ripe red fruit notes complemented by subtle spices and hints of undergrowth. The palate is dry yet smooth, with well-balanced tannins and a persistent finish. This Barbaresco pairs beautifully with meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, and should be served at no more than 20°C, allowing the bottle to breathe for at least an hour to enhance its aromas and flavors. An ideal choice for those seeking a classic, elegant wine that truly represents the Langhe terroir.
