Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2006 Dal Forno
The Amarone Monte Lodoletta by Dal Forno Romano is one of the most powerful and revered red wines from Italy. Produced in the eastern part of the Valpolicella region, near the village of Illasi, it stands as a symbol of modern Amarone excellence: meticulously crafted, intensely concentrated, and built to age for decades.
The wine is made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Croatina, and Oseleta, sourced from estate vineyards and harvested by hand with obsessive selection. Grapes undergo a 3-month drying period (appassimento) in a state-of-the-art drying room, where humidity and airflow are carefully managed. After fermentation, the wine is aged for over 24 months in new barriques, followed by extended bottle aging.
Monte Lodoletta reveals opulent aromas of dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather, pipe tobacco, spices, and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it’s massive yet refined, with extraordinary concentration, silky tannins, and a seemingly endless finish. Despite its richness, the balance is impeccable.
This is not just an Amarone — it is Dal Forno’s vision of perfection, a wine of legendary status and global acclaim, meant to be cellared and celebrated.
