YVAN BERNARD

Yvan Bernard natural wines from the Loire Valley Grandi BottiglieYvan Bernard, natural wines from the Loire Valley

Domaine Yvan Bernard is located in the historic village of Montpeyroux in the French Auvergne region.

Here, among extinct volcanoes and granite hills, there are the 8 hectares of vineyards of the Domaine, which grow on a clay-limestone matrix mixed with volcanic and basaltic ash, present and good assistance and worked with the sensitivity and sensitivity of the territory and ecosystem.

The great passion and love for this area led Yvan, after completing his studies in the oenology school of Beaune in Burgundy, to move to Auvergne at the age of 22. He had no family vineyards, he had to rent land from other owners in order to start his passion.

To date, its Domaine has 8 hectares distributed in the municipalities of Montpeyroux, La Sauvetat, Authezat, Corent and Boudes, where Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay, Syrah and Aligotè are mainly cultivated.

The company underwent the transition to organic in 2009, and then converted 8 years later, in 2017, to biodynamic agriculture. Bernard works with absolute care and respect for the territory, in all practices in force and in the cellar any type of invasive intervention or chemical substance is strictly prohibited.

Only herbal treatments, respect for the lunar calendar, return to soil tillage: these are the main lines of work in the vines. The vinification takes place in fiberglass or steel without SO2 if not all the bottling, giving the wines cleanness and particular fragrance.

Yvan Bernard says: "See what the vines have in their belly ... This is what guides my work. Each plot gives a different cuvée."

From his word it is clear to understand what the object of his work is: to produce whole wines that are a pure and uncontaminated expression of the terroir.
