PAUL PILLOT

Paul Pillot Grandi BottiglieDomaine Paul Pillot, great wines from Burgundy

The Domaine Paul Pillot has a very original history: it was founded in the second half of the nineteenth century by Jean-Baptiste Pillot, who was a cooper, making barrels and tonneaux and then reselling them to the large companies in the area.

At a certain point he decided to acquire a few parcels of vineyard, but it was his two sons, Alphonse and Henri, who gave the decisive impetus by extending the properties, which were further extended thanks to Paul Pillot, Henri's son, who took over the reins of the company in 1968. He acquired vineyards that still represent the premium of the Domaine, first of all the Premier Cru "Clos St. Jean", considered among the best in its prestigious commune.

Since 1999, Paul Thierry's son, has succeeded his father, following the same ideas and style as his father, to produce wines of incredible elegance, certainly among the best of Chassagne in every respect, rare and in great demand; their range includes a wonderful Saint-Aubin that has the marine character of a Chablis, and two entry-level white wines with an astonishing value for money.
