MARCO TINESSA

Marco Tinessa- Grandi Bottiglie

Marco Tinessa, Ognostro e more

Marco Tinessa is a young boy from Campania, born in Montesarchio del Sannio, in the province of Benevento, who moved to Milan to study economics at Bocconi and where he works as a financial broker. However, Marco continued to nurture an unbridled passion for the world of wine, so much so that he began his own training by getting to know a number of wine growers on his wine trips around Italy and Europe.

He decided to acquire 1.5 hectares in Montemarano, an area suitable for the production of Taurasi wine, of which he mainly followed the pruning and harvesting phases travelling between Milan and Campania, while the other phases were entrusted to his local farmer acquaintances. Passionate above all about French and Piedmontese wines, he also formed a strong friendship with Frank Cornelissen, a visionary Belgian producer on Etna, who vinified his grapes for the first 10 years and taught him the tricks of amphora refinement.

Marco also decided to spend a year in Langa where he worked for Mario Fontana, learning the secrets of the great Nebbiolo grape variety. After these experiences he felt ready to make wine on his own and set up a winemaking facility on the outskirts of Milan, where grapes harvested in Campania are transported the same day they are picked. Tinessa's wines are interesting interpretations of the terroir of Campania, made from typical regional grape varieties such as Aglianico and Fiano, processed without chemicals and with minimal intervention.
