The Maison de Champagne Henri Giraud is located in Ay, in the heart of the Marne Valley, has very old origins dating back to the 18th century and was founded by the Hémart family, and it was in the early 1900s that it was expanded by Madeleine Hémart and Léon Giraud.

Today, the Domaine is run by Claude Giraud, heir to the twelfth generation of the family, with the help of his daughter Emmanuelle and son-in-law, oenologist Sebastien le Golvet, with whom Claude created the famous Fût de Chêne in 1990, a Champagne that has become a true legend for wine lovers: rich and opulent, it is produced in a very limited quantity: around 20,000 numbered bottles and only in the best vintages.

The winery's philosophy respects its historical traditions, but always with an eye on study and innovation in the search for the highest quality wines, pursuing what has now become the winery's motto: "pleasure, maturity, territory". Pinot Noir grapes coming from Grand Cru vineyards are mostly used, producing about 260 thousand bottles per year, which are distinguished by a particular use of wood in the various stages of vinification, since according to Claude "even forests have a terroir like vineyards", and "there are no great wines without great wood".
