Giovanni Rosso's Langhe wines
Giovanni Rosso is a historic producer in the Langhe that has made it possible to bring Nebbiolo to high levels of quality and value.
The company manages a dozen or so prestigious crus in the Langhe, distributed between the towns of Serralunga d'Alba, including Cerretta and La Serra, and more recently also the famous Vigna Rionda vineyard.
The origins of the Rosso winery date back about 100 years ago, but it was in the 1980s that there was a turning point in production, when the family decided to focus on the quality of the grapes and respect for the terroir, whose characteristics the wines would respect.
Today it is Davide, Giovanni's son, who manages the 10 hectares of the estate, which also includes 6 hectares recently acquired on the Etna territory.
Both in the vineyard and in the cellar a precise and meticulous work is carried out, using at the minimum chemical products in the vineyard and in the cellar carrying out spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts and using large French oak barrels for ageing. The result is wines of great elegance and quality, faithful to the territory they belong to.
