Domaine Fouassier, pure espression of Sancerre

Domaine Fouassier is located in the heart of Sancerre in Loire. Founded in 1742, today it is run by Benoît and Paul in the tenth family generation, making them one of the oldest wineries in the area.

Their production philosophy is based on biodynamic agriculture principles, in full respect of the territory and of nature, and following Maria Thun's lunar calendar in order to regulate the work both in the vineyard and in the winery.

Today the winery counts 60 hectares of vineyards on various plots growing on three different types of soil: limestone (Les Grands Champs, Les Grous, La Garenne, Sur le Fort), clay-limestone (Clos Paradis, Les Chasseignes, Le Vallon), siliceous (Les Romains, Le Clos de Bannon, Les Chailloux);

the main grape variety cultivated is Sauvignon Blanc for white grapes and Pinot Noir for black grapes. The respectful work for nature is a way for Benoît and Paul to sublimate the territory of Sancerre, offering wines alive and authentic, which tell in a pure way the territory they belong to.
