DESCOMBES

Georges Descombes is a friend and pupil of Marcel Lapierre, one of the historical producers of natural wines in Beaujolais. His winery has fifteen hectares spread over five different AOCs, all vinified individually to enhance the uniqueness of each terroir: Morgon, Bruilly, Regnie, Fleury and Sant Amour.

The vineyards are perched on steep and difficult terrain, often working without the use of mechanical tools is the only solution. His production style is based on maniacal care in handling the grapes, carbonic maceration in pre-fermentation, slow and gentle pressing and no filtration of the wines.

Descombes' wines are harmonious and elegant, with a combination of body and juiciness, freshness and refinement.
