CORENTIN HOUILLON

Domaine Corentin Houillon is a French winery in Savoie, recognised for the quality of its natural wines. The winemaker says he has had experience in the vineyard since he was a child, experiences that had a decisive influence on his decision to become a winemaker by studying in Beaune and Montpellier.

Later, Corentin worked with some very important biodynamic wineries such as Domaine Tissot in the Jura and Domnique Derain in Burgundy. He then travelled to the New World to broaden his experiences and finally started making wine in Switzerland under his own name for La Ville de Morges.

Eventually, Corentin chose to settle in Chautagne, Savoie, where he manages the 5 hectares of vineyards located on steep slopes where vines typical of the region (Altesse, Jacquère, Pinot, Gamay and Mondeuse) grow.

They are all planted as a single block on 'molasses soils' surrounded by forests and exposed to a mountain climate. It follows biodynamic farming principles, seeking to express, through its wines, the most ancient terroir of this area of Savoy. Corentin works mainly with concrete vats and barrels, giving the wines time and oxygen.
