Located in Mercurey, at the heart of Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise, Château de Garnerot represents a new generation of estates combining respect for tradition, environmental awareness and a strong sense of place. The domaine is the result of the ambitious vision of Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot, two women who left successful international careers to dedicate themselves entirely to wine and create a property capable of expressing the true identity of Burgundy.

After studying wine in Beaune and gaining practical experience across prestigious vineyards of the Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise, they launched their first vintage in 2018. Their chosen home was an 18th-century château with a historic connection to wine culture, transformed into a place where vineyard, cellar and hospitality come together. Château de Garnerot is not only a winery but also a destination dedicated to discovering the authentic spirit of southern Burgundy.

The estate currently manages around 6 hectares of vineyards, spread between the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune. The vines are cultivated with a strong environmental commitment, with organic conversion beginning in 2022 and biodynamic practices applied on selected plots. Every vineyard decision is guided by respect for natural cycles, including lunar calendar practices, traditional Guyot and Guyot Poussard pruning methods, and careful soil management designed to preserve biodiversity and vineyard balance.

In the cellar, the philosophy remains one of minimal intervention and maximum expression. Each parcel is vinified separately to preserve its unique personality and terroir. White wines are carefully fermented and aged in oak barrels after gentle cold settling, while reds undergo delicate maceration and spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, allowing the character of the grapes and soils to emerge naturally.

The wines of Château de Garnerot showcase the diversity of Burgundy: fresh and precise Aligoté, elegant village wines and expressive Mercurey Premier Cru selections. Each bottle reflects the estate’s commitment to authenticity, balance and terroir-driven winemaking. Through the complementary Chai Garnerot négociant project, the domaine also explores other Burgundy expressions while maintaining the same philosophy of quality and respect.
