Domaine Benoit Ente, authentic wines from Puligny Montrachet

Domaine Benoit Ente is a French Burgundy winery, containing about 6 hectares of vineyards divided into 20 plots located mainly in or around the appellation of Puligny Montrachet. In 1990, Benoit and his aunt inherited the vineyards belonging to his grandparents, selling all the grapes to négociants until 1997, when they decided to produce their own wine.

Benoit managed 3 hectares of vines until 2013, when his aunt decided to stop working and entrusted his nephew with the management of his part of the vineyards. For 6 years, Benoit focused his production on rich and powerful wines, but in 2003, following a very hot year that led to over-ripening of the grapes, he decided to move towards a fresher style, seeking greater acidity in the grapes. As far as winemaking is concerned, the company believes in a sustainable type of viticulture, resorting however, when necessary, to the limited use of chemicals.

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and all the wines undergo an 18-month maturation period, of which for the first 12 months, the juice is stored in barrels or vats, and for the last 6 months the wines of the same denomination are blended in vats, allowing them to be refined and clarified without filtration.
