BENITO FERRARA

Benito Ferrara Grandi Bottiglie

Benito Ferrara, wines about Campania

The origins of Benito Ferrara's winery of Campania date back to the beginning of the 1900's when Benito, visionary and innovative entrepreneur, understood before others when it could be important to create his own winery for the production of Campania's wine and he passionately dedicated himself to the creation of the winery together with the help of his wife Michelina.

Today the winery is managed by Benito's daughter, Gabriella, with the help of her husband Sergio and Michelina. When in 1994 Gabriella inherited the business, the winery had only 2.5 hectares (12.5 acres), whereas today it has increased and has 10 hectares (10 acres), 6 of which are located in the commune of Tufo where Greco di Tufo is cultivated, and the remaining 4 are used for the production of Aglianico in the commune of Montemiletto.

Here the land enjoys very favorable conditions for the development of the vine: an excellent position, between 450 and 600 meters above sea level, with a southern exposure, hilly soils of medium texture. The heir has been able to carry on the work started by his father with talent and with the goal of increasing the prestige of Benito Ferrara in Italy and in the world, by producing a range of very territorial wines, capable of talking about the territory and of conquering the international market.
