Pernard-Vergelesses 1er Cru En Caradeux 2019 is a white wine produced by Domaine Rapet. The Chardonnay grapes come from the 1er Cru En Caradeux, one of Pernand's best terroirs.
The vineyards are located on steep east-facing slopes in front of the Corton hill, on lean soils with a siliceous component and limestone and gravel subsoil, which gives intense minerality to the wine. The grapes are gently pressed and after decanting at low temperatures, the must ferments spontaneously for a year in less than a third of new barrels.
This 2019 Pernard-Vergelesses 1er Cru En Caradeux from Domaine Rapet has a lovely elegance and minerality and mouthwatering, ripe fruit that gives a bouquet of peach, apple and lemon. The sip is balanced between creaminess and a lovely freshness and verticality, with great susceptibility to ageing.
