Description

Pergole Torte 2006 Montevertine

Le Pergole Torte is a fine Tuscan wine produced by Montevertine. It is one of the most sought-after and renowned Italian wines, born almost by chance and then presented at Vinitaly where it was a great success. It is obtained from Sangiovese grapes coming from the 2.5 hectares of the 18 total owned by the winery. After a careful selection of the grapes, it is then fermented in cement tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging instead includes 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels, 12 months in Allier barriques and another 6 months in bottle. "Le Pergole Torte" shows to the eye a beautiful bright ruby red; the nose is striking for its richness and complexity of red fruit, spices, cocoa and coffee roasting and mineral notes in the background. An elegant and at the same time structured wine, harmonious, persistent and destined for a very long life.

Do you know what a vintage wine really is?Vintage wine is not to be considered as a product to be tasted, but as an emotion to give that brings with it the memories of a past time.It is first and foremost a collector's work, with high antiques value and only later, if you are lucky, a wine to taste.
