Nebbiolo d'Alba 2012 Flavio Roddolo

Nebbiolo d'Alba 2012 is a red wine from Piedmont produced by Flavio Roddolo. A territorial and austere wine, it has the elegance and character of a Barolo. The 100% Nebbiolo grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with maceration on the skins for 30 days, then it is aged in old barriques for 14 months. Roddolo's Nebbiolo d'Alba 2012 is dark garnet in colour, with an intense nose of aromatic herbs, notes of dried rose, blackcurrant and ethereal returns. The taste is warm and dry, with a nice freshness and tannins present but harmonious. The scents of the nose are found in the mouth, especially the notes of herbs. Great length and persistence.

Flavio Roddolo is a wine grower from Monforte d'Alba in the Langhe region of Italy. He is deeply rooted in the land and is convinced that it is the terroir, more than anything else, that determines the character of the wine. Dolcetto is one of his most famous wines, a difficult and less profitable grape but which in his hands expresses itself at sensational levels. Then Nebbiolo, Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon, which give life to bottles of rare authenticity and quality.
