Macon Village Les Sardines 2021 Robert Denogent
Robert Denogent's Macon Village Les Sardines 2021 is an authentic, terroir-expressive interpretation of Chardonnay in Burgundy. It comes from the limestone-clay vineyards of Lugny, in the heart of the Mâconnais, where cool breezes from the Saône and Grosne rivers give the grapes ideal ripeness.
After gentle pressing, the must ferments slowly to preserve all its aromatic luminosity. The wine then rests for 6 months in steel barrels, during which it acquires roundness and complexity.
The result is a wine with a magnetic personality. Vibrant straw yellow in color, the nose seduces with notes of apple, pear, citrus and a citrus-mineral finish. In the mouth it is crisp and savory, with a concentrated but coherent texture, leading to an almond note on the long finish.
It is a wine with a profoundly Burgundian soul, an authentic reflection of terroir, grapes and man's work. It surprises with its freshness and complexity, to be discovered throughout a meal, especially with fish, vegetable or cheese dishes. The modern incarnation of a classic, for palates attentive to the true essence of Chardonnay.
