Fumin esprit follet 2018 La Crotta di Vegneron
Fumin esprit follet 2018 is a red wine from Valle d'Aosta produced by the La Crotta winery in Vegneron. This label is part of the winery's range of selections, and is made from Fumin, an ancient red grape variety from the Aosta Valley that is characterised by an intense skin colour and late ripening.
This, together with ageing in wood, results in an incredibly complex and elegant wine. Traditional fermentation is carried out in steel tanks for 20 days, and ageing takes place in wood for 12 months plus 5 months resting in the bottle.
The 2018 Crotta di Vegneron Fumin esprit follet shows a concentrated ruby red colour with purple highlights in the glass. The nose expresses mouth-watering and intense aromas of spices (white pepper and vanilla), flowers and red fruits (cherries and sour cherries). The sip is balanced, with good body, persistence and intensity.
