Barolo Brunate 2006 Marcarini
The Marcarini Barolo Brunate 2006 represents one of the finest expressions of Nebbiolo from the Langhe, produced from historic vineyards in La Morra and Barolo within the renowned Brunate cru, officially recognized as a Geographical Additional Mention (MGA).
This selection embodies the pinnacle of traditional Barolo, with low yields, careful grape selection, and meticulous vineyard management. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats with at least four weeks of maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts a minimum of two years in medium-sized Slavonian oak casks (20-40 hl), which imparts structure, depth, and complexity without technological exaggeration. The wine displays an intense garnet-red color with ruby highlights.
The bouquet is complex and persistent, revealing aromas of vanilla, sweet spices, tobacco, mountain hay, and forest floor. On the palate, it is noble, warm, and velvety, with refined tannins and a long aromatic finish, making it perfect for pairing with robust dishes such as roasts, braised meats, game, and aged cheeses. The 2006 Brunate is a testament to Marcarini’s historic winemaking tradition and the timeless elegance of great Barolo, ideal for refined tastings and premium collections.
