Barolo 2010 Lorenzo Accomasso
The 2010 Barolo by Lorenzo Accomasso is more than just a wine — it is a symbol of Barolo tradition and craftsmanship. Produced by the legendary winemaker in La Morra, this wine embodies a legacy that dates back to Accomasso’s first vintage in 1958. His approach is resolutely traditional: low yields, spontaneous fermentations, old oak aging, and zero compromise.
Sourced from just 3 meticulously farmed hectares in the Annunziata hamlet of La Morra, the vines are about 50 years old, planted on calcareous-clay soils with sandy veins, and sit at an elevation of 500 meters. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts, and aged for at least 24 months in large, neutral Slavonian oak barrels, followed by extended bottle aging.
In the glass, it shows a light garnet red, classic and evolved. The nose is elegant and multilayered, revealing red berries, currant, raspberry, dried violet and rose petals, licorice, sweet spices, balsamic tones, and wild herbs. On the palate, it’s refined and fresh, with silky tannins and a long, savory finish. This is a soulful, age-worthy Barolo for collectors and purists alike.
