Barbera d'Asti Superiore "La Bogliona" 2015 Scarpa
Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG "La Bogliona" 2015 is a fine red wine from Piedmont produced by the historic Nizza Monferrato-based winery Scarpa.
It is made from 100% Barbera grapes coming from the "I bricchi" estate located at the border between Castel Rocchero and Acqui Terme. Vineyards range from 350 to more than 400 meters above sea level and are mainly exposed to southwest, on a soil mainly made of clay with low percentage of sand.
It is a Barbera Superiore of great structure, capable of aging for a long time (even more than 20 years).
The wine shows a beautiful intense ruby red color, while the nose offers a complex, deep and persistent bouquet with aromas of plum and ripe red fruit, minerals and spices. The taste is austere, very fresh and persistent, it will become softer and velvety after at least the fifth year of aging.
