Barbaresco Albesani Riserva Viti Vecchie 2013 Piero Busso
Piero Busso's Barbaresco Albesani Riserva Viti Vecchie is a celebration of winemaking tradition and the history that lies behind every sip. This extraordinary wine is produced in the Neive region, within the Albesani terroir, whose soil rich in limestone, clay and silt gives depth and complexity to the wine.
The vines that contribute to the grapes of this Barbaresco have roots that go back to the past, dating back to the 1940s. These vineyards, located between 210 and 240 meters above sea level, enjoy an ideal south-west exposure, guaranteeing generous exposure to sunlight. This results in ripe grapes with a higher concentration of sugars and an extraordinary flavor profile.
The cultivation techniques follow a Guyot training system, with particular care for older vines. The winemaking involves submerged cap macerations, which allow the tannins and aromas to be slowly extracted from the grape skins. Aging takes place in large oak barrels, followed by refinement in the bottle for at least 3 years.
The organoleptic characteristics of this Barbaresco are extraordinary. The garnet red color with orange reflections heralds a broad and spicy bouquet. In the mouth, the wine is structured and intense, with pleasant tannins and a memorable persistence. It is a true jewel of Piedmont, a sensorial experience that honors tradition and looks to the future.
