Anjou Les Nourissons 2018 Domaine Stephane Bernaudeau
Anjou Les Nourissons 2018 is a French white wine from the Loire Valley produced by Domaine Stephane Bernaudeau. It is made from a blend of Chenin Blanc and Verdelot (the Portuguese Verdelho), a grape variety which by law cannot be replanted in the Loire and which is found in the form of traditional 110-year-old saplings, from a 0.7-hectare vineyard on shale soil.
Stephane Bernaudeau is a non-conformist winemaker who works by trying to distinguish himself from conventional viticulture, adopting biodynamic principles and refusing the appellation of origin, in fact this bottle is classified as "Vin de France" by his own choice. After harvesting and soft pressing the grapes, the wine ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and is aged for 16 months in double oak barrels used on its lees.
This 2018 Anjou Les Nourissons from Domaine Bernaudeau, produced in limited quantities, shows a bright straw yellow colour in the glass. The nose expresses a great minerality as its main characteristic, while the sip is rich and structured, round and fresh at the same time.
