Nuits Saint Georges Clos de la Marechale 1er Cru Jacques Frederic Mugnier
Nuits Saint Georges Clos de la Marechale 1er Cru is a fine Burgundy wine produced by Jacques Frederic Mugnier. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes that come from the Clos de la Maréchale, the largest Monopole (appellation belonging to a single owner) of the Côte d'Or (it covers about 9 hectares under vine). The average age of the vines is about 45 years.
The wines from this area are known to be among the best Niuts-Saint-Georges and are characterised by a lower alcohol content and great elegance. The soil is made up of geological strata that end up in the south and resurface in Montrachet, an element that gives the wines great longevity and power. The Nuits Saint Georges Clos de la Marechale is a wine with an important structure, with silkier tannins than in other areas and a good dose of elegance.
Like all the wines of the appellation, it will take a few years of ageing for the wine to fully reveal itself, offering the typical fruity notes of raspberry and floral notes of Iris and Lilac, together with a range of tertiary scents that make up an intense and complex bouquet.
