Etna Rosso Munjebel FM Sottana 2018 Cornelissen
Etna Rosso Munjebel FM Sottana 2018 is a fine Sicilian wine produced by Frank Cornelissen. It is made from pure Nerello Mascalese from old alberello vines over 40 years old from the Sottana vineyard, in the lower part of the Feudo di Mezzo district, at an altitude of 580 m above sea level.
Feudo di Mezzo is a large district, which is why it is better to separate the lower part (sottana) from the upper part (soprana or Porcaria). Although it is located lower down, at the bottom of the valley, the wines produced from grapes grown in this area are characterised by great elegance, so much so that they can be compared to the Pinot Noirs of Burgundy.
No sulphur is added and no clarification or filtration takes place. The Munjebel FM Sottana shows an intense ruby red colour in the glass, while the nose expresses sweet aromas such as ripe fruit and more bitter ones such as dark chocolate or liquorice. The sip is balanced between a nice freshness and sapidity.
