Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu 2017 Gérard Duplessis
The grapes used to produce this Chablis come from the 1er Cru Mont de Milieu vineyard, a small plot located in the heart of the appellation. Gérard Duplessis took over from his father at the winery in 1999, beginning an organic conversion in 2007 that came into effect in 2013.
His vineyards are in the heart of the best premier cru Chablis and produce wines that are rarely enjoyable at their best but age considerably, reaching superb maturity around eight to ten years. The choice of long ageing (vat, then cask and tank assembly for at least 18 months) explains the wines' ability to age.
This Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu has a straw-yellow colour and a bouquet that changes minute by minute in the glass: scents of red apples, pears and apricots are accompanied by intense mineral aromas, while the taste is full, supported by excellent acidity and a long finish.
