Barolo 2017 Elio Altare
Elio Altare Barolo is the "entry level" of the production, it is a mix of innovation and tradition, a classic Barolo, with grapes from different communes of the Langhe but aged in barrique instead of large barrels, in order to accelerate the maturation and have a wine ready to drink immediately.
Elio Altare Barolo is produced from a blend of Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in four communes of the denomination: La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba and Barolo. After harvesting, the different plots are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts with a short maceration of 4-5 days, after the blend, the wine is aged in barrique for 24 months before being bottled.
Barolo Altare is by now a top level label, a real point of reference for all Piedmontese wine lovers, in the glass it is ruby red with light garnet hues. The nose is an elegant mix of red berried fruits, floral nuances of violet, spices, officinal herbs and a light touch of licorice. In the mouth is immediately evident the impressive structure, with a thick tannic texture but well integrated in the body of the wine. Rich, complex and deep with a very persistent finish and a pleasing freshness.
